Zion Wildlife Gardens is located in a tranquil countryside retreat dedicated to the preservation of Big Cats - a place where you have a unique chance to see them up close and learn about these magnificent endangered animals.
Once you've found your way to Whangarei and passed the city centre, head north along State Highway 1 till you come to a roundabout. Turn left at Kamo Road, and then left again onto Three Mile Bush Rd. Drive about 7.5kms out of the township till you reach Gumtown Rd, turn left onto that road and drive for another 1.5kms till you get to Grays Rd. You'll finally see the road sign for this magnificent park approx 1km on Grays Rd.

Zion Wildlife Gardens is located in a tranquil countryside retreat specialising in some of the world's Big Cats - a place where you have a unique chance to see them up close and learn about these magnificent endangered animals. It's a unique park like environment with both the rare Barbary Lions and Royal White Tigers as well as other cat species on display.
The park currently has 20 cats - 12 Barbary Lions, 4 Royal White Tigers, an Orange Bengal Tiger and cub, and 2 Serval Cats. Both Barbary Lions and the Royal White Tigers are extremely rare and indeed are labelled as 'Extinct' in the wild.
Zion Wildlife Gardens offers guided and private tours for groups and individuals, which can be arranged either during the weekend or on other days of the week. The park is still under construction with plans for further expansion.
Zion Wildlife Gardens also has a gift shop full of souvenirs, educational books, soft toys and much more.
