James is located in New Plymouth, New Zealand's western most city. To get to New Plymouth from Auckland head out of the city on the southern motorway towards Hamilton. Once you reach Hamilton follow the road south to Waitomo Caves and onto Te Kuiti it is well signposted. From Te Kuiti you head south-west passing through the small settlement of Piopio until you reach the coast. It is a spectacular drive along the coastline passing through the settlement of Mokau you then head inland by pass Waitara and onto New Plymouth, its is about a 4 hours drive from Auckland.

To get there from Wellington you north along the motorway and drive north-west passing through the towns of Levin, Wanganui, Hawera and Strafford before reaching New Plymouth it is also about a 4 hours drive.

You can fly to New Plymouth from Auckland and Wellington airports, please go to the Air NZ website www.airnz.co.nz to check timetable.

Profile

Photographic and journalism freelance service.

In everyone's childhood there is a defining moment, an event so profound it imprints itself on your soul and lasts a lifetime. For me it happened at age 11. A school project, a box brownie camera, a Kodak 620 film cartridge and the resulting blurry black and white prints was to ignite in me a deep and lasting passion for the art of photography. The challenge of manipulating light, form, colour and composition to create a unique and beautiful image is the ultimate form of creativity for me and a process that never fails to fire and feed my over active imagination.

Now, some 30 plus years later the old box brownie and the original prints have long since vanished, but the passion continues. . . . .

Nau mai! Haere mai! Welcome to my Whare Whakaahua, my Photographic Studio, you are very welcome. I hope you enjoy your visit, please visit often and share with me the images of my home, my people and my country . . . . as seen through my eyes.
